I was just wondering what exactly do I need? and what does it do?

because I race MX and was planning on buying a dynatek I hear the CRF ignition is better

The CRF ignition uses a lighter flywheel and CRF CDI, stator and wire harness. it allows the quad to rev up alot faster then with the heavy 05 flywheel. For MX if you have an o5 its the way to go. if its too expensive and not in the budget id roll with a Vortex X10 instead of a Dynatek

what year crf parts do I need? will a 05 work?

Anything from 02-08 will work. But they changed stators and CDI's from a single to a 2 plug in like 04 or 05. Can't remember off hand. Lol it's late here. But I use an 03 on my personal bike. But you also need an adapter plate for the stator as well as machining the stator cover. Dasa makes the adaptor plates in STD timing or adjustable. I use the adjustabe. But it depends how far you want to go.

i have the complete crf ignition set up that i just took off my 05 trx450r it came on my tt quad dasa built the motor if you want to buy 1 its for sale and i would even take your stock ignition in on trade just let me know

the crf ignition is awesome!
no fan but just run oversize. the revs are sik and the fact there are no wires is even better!!

a def on 04/05 bikes
