imo the plates are probably starting to wear out and start to make noise once they expand and start hitting. I would think about getting some new fibers and plates to put in it and that should do the trick. steve

ok thanks man. is this what it sounds like to everyone else? if so what brand clutch should i get? i heard the stock ones were really good. are they just good for stock motors? i have a 11 to 1 piston, web cam and a lexx slip-on exhaust.

stockers are some of the better ones. I am having good luck with my tusk set. hinson makes some good ones, along with ebc with their dirt digger setup also. steve

Hey Steve isn't the dirt digger a Barnett product? I've also got the tusk setup (its only 50 bucks) and its been holding up pretty good.

yes, i suppose it can be looked up under darnett. I thought that EBC had a dirt digger also but that could a different name all together. Ill look and see what the ebc one is called to find out for sure. steve

alright, my apologizes. I figured it out. EBC is the Dirt racer kit or DRC series. Barnett has strictly the Dirt Digger setup. I thought they were both called digger. lol. anyway, both are supposed to be pretty good, but for $45.00 tusk is probably the way to go. you wont get stockers or any other setup for that cheap. steve

yup, you can get heavy duty springs or not also. on a completely stock 400 they wont be needed so it is up to you if you want to get them for the future or not. they will help with wear since it will hold tighter but will make it a bit harder to pull the clutch in. steve
