KTM RFS complete teardown ?'s

I need to split the case on my 08 outlaw 450, was reading through the service manual, and theres a timing gear extractor, and another gear extractor that are listed, well the prices from KTM for those two tools alone is almost 500 bucks total, was wondering if anyone who's had these motors apart before had any other methods or slightly cheaper tools , i've got pretty much everything else for the job, besides the few special extractors, I had also heard that there is a motion pro chain breaker that will work for breaking and pressing the cam chain, wondering if anyone had a part number on that, thanks for the help, also if anyone has any complete teardown links or videos, that'd be cool, thanks alot

I never used any special tools when I did mine. You do need to break or grind the cam chain. And a flywheel puller thats all.

That's good to hear, how did you press the chain back together?

You need the KTM chain breaker/riveting tool to peen the new link together.
