View Full Version : How Wide??

So...i just got some laeger long travel mx a arms and fox shocks on my '05 TRX450R. i dont have the rear end put back on so i have not ridden it yet. and also i bought the a arms used. My question is i have 3+2 rims on it right now and was wondring how wide i will be sitting??

What width are the arms?

or bolt everything up and measure it

i want to say they are +2?, i forgot to measure it last time i was home. How wide would a +3 be? and how wide would a +2 be?

i got to measure it this weekend and it is 48" wide. is this wide enough for mx?

it will be wide enough but it should be wider esp since you have those kind of rims on there. either you dont have +2 a-arms or your ride height is way too high...

well i measured it while it was up on my stand, didn't know that would make that much of a difference

Yes, you have to measure it while you are sitting on it. Thats why at Nationals when you go through tech inspection, they make you RIDE it through the spreader bar.
if you dont have someone who can measure while you are sitting on it, then sit on it and turn the bars a few times and bounce up and down, get off and then measure... it wont be too far off
