School me on 250X/300EX

Hey guys, I'm picking up a 250X on Tuesday, very excited!! I have 2 250R's right now, (have been riding them for 12 years) and I wanted a 250X to go along with them. I have a few questions, besides electric start, the cdi boxes, and the 87 hubs being different, is everything else pretty much the same? Any tech tips, or info I should know? This is my first 4-stroke in a long time, (i had a 96 suzuki lt-160 years ago). I will post picks tuesday night! :cool:

I'm confused by your question. Are you asking the differences between a 300ex and a 250x or are you asking the differences between a 250x and 250r ?

Other than what you have mentioned the only other differences between the 300ex and 250x is the crank and the decompresion on the kick start.


(of course I am talking about the old 250x not the one they sell now)

The new 07 and up 300EX have they changed anything

just a few things. The reverse is different.

If there's anything different in the electric then I don't know about it. We had an 07 but we left if stock. It was actually our backup quad so we didn't mess with it much.

the cdi is different from 07 up the older ones had a seperate box for the reverse but now its all one unit....other than that and lights and platsics it pretty much the same beast
