Does anyone have any of the older Laeger decals? Preferably in white? I need 2 for my frame and 2 for the swinger.

Thanks,
Troy

I believe, (correct me if I'm wrong Dan), they were individual letters that you pulled the backing off then stick them and they were held together by the top layer that was peeled off after sticking them. Does that make sense?

Dan, yeah I know some graphics guys in town. We'd just have to get Laeger's permission to reprint them though. Usually not a problem. I don't know how Scott is.

mine peel off the back and say laeger's, but the top layer stays on with a clear protective layer over the white letters

If you can find out the sizes for frame, swingarm, a-arms.

Or is somebody has some knowledge of the size, I know I can just get some made here for cheap.

here was Scotts's answer a few months ago

"Eric we do not supply stickers for rebuilds sorry. There are just tooooo many Laeger’s a-arms out there to continue to put new stickers on each one every time they are powder coated. We use to say send us a self addressed stamped envelope, but after our annual sticker budget got spent in 2 months we had to stop. People just don’t realize how much stickers cost when you have thousands of request. We now sell sticker sheets for $10 each which are a 9” x 11” sheet in either white or black. I hope you can understand"

Understandable- I never did buy the stickers and not sure if they are a arm only for $10 I was looking for all of them - a arms, frame and s arm I decided (since I am cheap - lol) to just keep the bike sticker free since it will likely be torn down and maybe powdercoted again after the season. I will consider putting stickers on if they are free and the person/company has helped me which Scott has or if I get a discount/ sponsor as one company stated they would provide if I run their sticker kit.

good luck Troy, I do believe the stickers make it look a bit more complete and break up some of the paint/chrome and gives it that new look when they are placed on fresh pc parts

lol guys i have a vinyl printer... i also have 20+ colors of vinyl as long as i can find the original logo to copy in and then scale them differently per part im glad i saw this thread being as i was planning on doing this for my rebuild this winter :) so let me know if youve got interest and ill try and fish up a logo in the mean time ill post pics of some trial runs...

The style of decal you are looking for is called a diecut. Any Signs Now or a shop with a vinyl potter should be able to do a run for you fairly inexpensive.

I have had various decals done from JPG's and I think the most I ever paid for them was $4.50 each when I ordered 10 lots. Those were also fairly good sized 6.5X12"

I'm still pretty sure you have to have written permission to have the graphics made. I might be all wet on that but that's what I as told awhile back when I was designing my own graphics for my 250r... at least that was what someone said about the Honda logo.

I have no problem paying for them from Scott. I just wanted the older die cut versions in white... I'd even buy some for spares as well.

Like Dan mentioned the die cut ones hold up much better than the newer ones...

i fugured that is going to be be scott taylors reponse (emullens response). way to go scott taylor. great job promoting the business. too cheap to supply stickers.

well i went to the source ...i just sent mark laeger an email asking about a few things. i did mention the laeger decals. waiting for a response. maybe he has some stashed away?

hmm alright well ill be printing some tonight being as i found the logo and stop calling them die cuts please there called vinyl stickers.... Ive printed numerous designs that can get pretty intricate for friends and other larger snowboarding companies so i dont see why this would be a problem and yes i could see honda saying something like you need permission lol but idk if there gonna send honda reps out to everyones house and ask if they legitimately got the stickers through honda... so ill be sitting on a stack of probbly 150 tonight in 15 colors...

p.s. ive measured the dimensions of the lettering on my aarms frame and swingarm so i will be printing the proper sizes.

troy:
in scotts email he said he had varous size stickers on a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet available in black or white. $10 per sheet.

i don't think he understood what stickers (decals) we are looking for. these are probably the ones that you would put on the fenders and not on the a arms, frame and swingarm.

i'm going to try and call scott as soon as i get a chance

Hey fellas, I just caught wind of this thread. I make the stickers all the time for our local powdercoater. He powdercoats a bottom color, applies a sticker, powders over that, peels sticker off, and powders clear over that. I said all that to say this. The stickers are a breeze to make. A local sign shop should be able to make them cheap, or hit me up and I'll see if I can help you out. Let the records show I'm not trying to advertise, just help some R nuts out with some stickers.:blah:

Not sure if you found what you are looking for yet but I have a local guy that does quad graphics. I had him do some lettering for our trucks and he does really good work. I had talked to him about Laeger graphics for my bike and he said he can do anything like that. His name is Cody, his website is www.fourtechind.com. The phone number is 559-901-8774 I am sure if you haven't found what your looking for yet, he either has them or can get them.....MJ

Did you guys figure out a way to get these decals?

It looks like Fastredrider44 was able to print some...

Looks like I will be needing some of the old style now...

2 for Frame

2 for Swingarm

2 for A-arms..

I sent Fastredrider a PM...

Just wanted to see if this was the route that everyone else ended up taking...

troybilt
04-13-2011, 01:24 PM
Yes that's the route I went... work pretty good, but stay away from a textured powder, I had to sand my frame where I mounted the decals cause the texture wouldn't allow them to stick very welll...

I don't know price on other colors but I think I got robbed at $7 a piece for die cut - not sure if it's because it was on gold metallic or the fact that it was a rush job, but somebody please tell me they paid wayyy less than that for them.
