Diamond j customs. Makes a shock relocator bracket for the 300ex

Diamond J Customs is cheaper... but the design sets the shocks more upright. I prefer the JB Racing relocator bracket. It is lighter... mounts from the top... and the shocks are at a better angle. It costs more though. I'm probably making my own though. Pretty simple.

Diamond J $79 - Weighs too much... too wide and makes front end pogo.

JB Racing $124 - Proper format... better ride... built in stay mounts for your fender brackets... costs a little too much IMHO Maybe not too much... just more than I wanna pay.

He is right about the shock angle on the dimond J relocator. There are several people on here that have complainded about their shocks being to upright and poor ride quality. I think the locator is too short and it make the front end sit to high as well.

I think I still have one. I will look tonight. I made my own. They work really well.

If I still got it I will take $35.00 shipped.

There are a lot of guys that claim the 400ex suspension swap is no good. I suspect it was the DJ shock mount that gave them that impression.

the suspension and a-arm swap is awesome. Just stay away from the 400ex spindles.

Agreed... but that is obvious for those that have tried 400ex spindles cause the camber being out of whack is very visual.

But the pogo affect created by bad shock position on the top isn't so obvious. Then they go buy wider aftermarket arms which helps ride quality by widening the lower shock location... and assume it was the 400ex arms that were the problem.

Why not just do it the right way with A-arms and shocks.

you can use 250r arms also then no use for this 400 oem stuff.

Because the 400EX suspension is 2 inches wider... adds 2 inches of wheel travel... has near perfect geometry if you use the JB ATV Racing shock mount... BOLTS ON with ZERO modifications... and costs nearly nothing for the oem parts !

The cost benefit cannot be matched for a trail rider !

If you are a real racer then OEM shocks and arms are probably not for you.

250R A-ARMS will not work on a 300ex without modifying. 400ex is much cheaper and will bolt right up.

i ended up buying +2 burgard arms and doing all my stuff cheaper then my buddy ended up buying 400 stuff lol...either i got a deal or he got ripped cuz he had over $300 into his 400ex swap stuff.

i looked into the relocated but my friend is a atv builder so he could just move anything i wanted ayware i wanted and make it stronger so i went that route for a full blown XC bike.

my buddy ran 250r arms and banshee shocks on his 250x hybrid mounted right up.

That just means he was over driving the Banshee shocks cause they were at too much angle for what they were designed for... the shocks had to be ground to fit the tabs... and control arm frame tabs had to be altered to work if he really had 250R arms.

And yes, the other guy got ripped off if he spent that much on the 400 oem parts.

Them is the facts maam !
