hey guys so i just got this 450r and i took it slow a couple days but even after that it doesn't want to shift into 2nd gear. if i start in 1st it will either hit neutral or i will have to pull super hard to shift it

what year is it? you'll might have to replace one of the gears, or try adjusting your clutch lever, sometimes that helps.

My friend's 05 was doing the same thing, we replaced the clutch pack and it ran perfect after that. You might just be due for a clutch rebuild.

its a brand new 08 left over so i dont think its the clutch that needs a rebuild also i've adjusted the lever so many times it just keeps hangin neutral some times

ya you might have to learn how to shift again not saying you dont know how to but i went though the same thing after years of rideing my 86trx 250r i had to change the way i shifted with the trx 450

maybe your right because the 450r has a super long throw from 1st to 2nd compared to the 400ex

i just got on a 450r from a 400ex. and its a completely different shift style.

its almost aggravating. ive had the 450 for about 2 months now and it took me about a month to get it down perfect.
