It’s been my experience that by the time I get to the dr. I’m already feeling better and it was a waste of money. But you can take advil or equivalent in higher doses than is prescribed on the label. I take up to 4 advil at a time when I need them, the dr. can give you a scrip for the same thing but your paying three times what the advil cost.
If it’s not any better by the time your appointment gets here then go see the dr.

I hear that, a couple weeks ago, at 3AM I called an ambulance because I passed out at my computer randomly. After seeing my family doctor a week later, he told me I was cutting off circulation with my neck, because I was sitting with my chin on the computer desk, and now I take baby aspirin 81mg daily, so I can't have a naproxen pain-killer such as aleve.

Health care in Canada is free, but prescriptions aren't, and I have no money. I'm alone for 12 days, and my parents went to our other house today.

I've iced it for about 3 hours, and then took the ice off, and now it only hurts if I clench a fist. I'm going to stick with ice, because it nearly completely numbs it.

You might wrap it with an ace bandage and try not to use it for a few days, then when the pain calms down start using it lightly and start building your strength back up. if it doesn’t calm down and start feeling better in a few days then see the doc.
But I would give it some time and see what it does.

Thanks. I facebooked this injury, and my parents' friends read it, and then they drove out here, but I sent them home, because I was going to the hospital in 2 hours anyways :p. If I wait until after-hours, I won't have to wait five hours in a waiting room. When I went there before, I was the only person waiting, and I was out in three, and they even paid for a taxi (30-40km) to get me home. The ambulance costed $45, you gotta love free health care :D.

Hay doc it hurts when I do that…….Doc seas well don’t do that!
Hopefully it’s just miner, maybe some deep bruising to the tendons, if was broken you would pretty much know it by how it feels.
Good luck and I hope you feel better.

I was just outside and a wasp just stung me right in the eye so I may be right behind you.http://www.smilieshq.com/smilies/sick0023.gif (http://www.smilieshq.com)

I got to the hospital last night at 9:30pm, but in the emergency room there wasn't a single seat, so I left. When I woke up, the swelling had gone down, but my hand still looks fat. The bottom doesn't hurt at all, and the top is painfull to poke. When I woke up, there were two faint bruises around my knuckles, and a red line on my hand where the bar hit. I just played a song on my drums, and it didn't hurt. When I clench my fist it hurts on the top. I don't think it'll hurt during the week if it doesn't already. It's possible that it's fractured, and definetly bruised. Can bones bruise?

Atleast now I can type - I rigged this a second ago. I used elastics to close the cloth, and then spent 20 minutes looking for duct tape, and didn't think to just use elastics :huh.

Ok sounds like it’s getting better, and yes bones can be bruised and it can be quite painful. There are a lot of tendons on the top of your hand and they can bruise as well.
Use ice the first 24 hours and heat after that.
And from the picture it looks like the rubber bands are too tight, your fingers are turning red.
