The first version released was the XC version, but now the MX version is out and shipping.

Rear Tire is 18x7-8 so it shows promise as a replacement for the Snow Pigs

2 ply so weight will be low

Check with your supplier for more details

G,

Don't they have a 18 x 8 x 8 version to be released in the Fall? Are these a true 18 tall and a true 7 wide?

bulldogfallon

I think they are closer to a 17" in diameter...

Ours are in transit right now

The reviews are all good so far.

You can look in the Mini Quad Racing section for a proper review by Mark Williams.

the 18-7-8 was my recommendation to Mr Williams earlier this year. Can I get a test pair since they took my idea:D

Nice try, but "your" idea was shared by many including myself:D I had them measured a little wider than 7 more like 7 1/2". Im sure your going to love them. They are a mean tire for sure. We will be closing out the WORCS National series final two rounds on them, and we will get a good idea of how they do in a race setting on high horsepower machines.

what I understand is the're not as tall and only 1 1/2" wider than the XC version. Dont see much gain from the first design...My two cents....:) :) ;) ;) :) :)

nice pics Gary, makes it easy . it almost looks like the snow hog is wider than the DWT.

Non-Inflated Sizes

Height Width
Snow Hog 15.5" 7"
DWT 16.25" 6.75"
Razr Cross 17.5" 6.5"

This was done really quickly so I wouldn't say the #s are perfect, but close

The Snow Pig has more of a round edge where the DWT has more of a flat square edge

where do these DWT tire show their biggest advantage, what kind of terrain. Up here in Northern NY we have LOTS of MUD and sand tracks, and one track has a lot of mulch in it so its a loose sand, mud, mulch combo. I had the Quadcross MX 18x8x8 on Seth's quad, and they really hooked up good, but were too much for his weak motor to turn over. Been looking for a good mud tire.

rumor has it that the new DWT's will be what the 2011 Apex's will come with, like shown on the 85 but with the polished rims.....

bulldogfallon

The 2010 Apex units already come with DWT tires and wheels already (like in the 85cc pic) which is the RCR V.1. (XC Style Tire)

The Black Wheels are DWT Champion Jr Blk that are available with a small upcharge over the polished wheels.

Our last couple of shipments have come equipped with this set up

I am sure the RCR V1 tire that is on them will be replaced RCR v.2 tire (MX Version) from this point forward.

Fed-ex just left and here are the actual sizes mounted and aired up.
Fronts are actual 18 3/4" x 5 3/4"
Rears are actual 16 3/4" x 7 3/8" on a 7 wide wheel

Will try to get put on a bike later and get pic but gotta get a top end back on Coley's practice bike first this evening.

Would be nice to see a little more bite on the side for XC. Glad to see we are getting closer to the right size though.

didn't get a chance to put tire/wheels on quad but got top-end back on. was concerned about the stud length but the drr pro wheels are a 8mm web and the rear dwt is 7mm front is 6.5mm so will work but I am still going to go with the 250r studs that are m8x1.25x35

yeah I know they do look wider than the first design. What size of rim were they using? 8x6 or 8x8?

selbygirl
09-02-2010, 07:18 AM
they have 2 differnt styles the one on the opening page the mx and the one on the bike is like a ag tire with the v design thats one we have the v shape tire

nvrpmx
09-04-2010, 11:37 AM
The tires on the opening page is not the kids tires they are the 18x11x8 and the V1 front that is a 20x7x10 .

The DWT kids rear wheel is a 8x6.

I hope this answered some of the questions and if there is any more please feel free to ask. My plan here at DWT is to focus a little more on the youth classes that are out there and continue to make new product for them so always willing to listen.

My only concern with them is that they resemble the Kenda Klaw tires so much and the Klaws were never worth a crap on anything compared to what else was available, don't get me wrong we will still try them though.

ther realy nice tires my boy loves em ther a 1inch or more taller then the 18 inch snow hogs so wer going with a 20 inch on the front now but lately my boy has got most of all the holeshots they stick to the ground real good seeya tommy

Trust me there is a reason they are designed the way they were. There was alot that went into it. You WONT be dissappointed.

I'm curious how these XC tires will last compared to the 18" snow pigs... anyone know? we ride trail and some track playing. not racing so I don't want the MX version. I'd just rather have better grip and lifespan than the snow pigs... if they don't last as good then I'll just stick with crappy traction as we don't race lol. thanks!

raidernut

you will be a 100% upgrade with the DWT XC version over the snow pigs. Would be a great choice for your application.

hawaiianbasshed

we run 18x9.5 turf tamers for trail and they last forever on a mini bike and give good ground clearance :) here's a size comparison with the 18" snow pigs vs the 20" CST fronts and 18" rear turf tamers on the LT80...

but the DWTs would be more for track and IF they lasted good I'd run them all around :) for the all around stuff, I'd prefer they last as well as the turf tamers which have been on for a few months and show no real signs of wear. but they're also a full size bike tire lol so I wouldn't expect the weight and power of a mini to wear them much at all....

You guys have any mx stuff for the minis on the island? I never thought to check, and I think my wife would go to a different Island if I brought my sons quad with us :D

She is already ticked that we have not made it out there yet this year, so maybe when it gets cold here... can't be that much to ship the bike :D

Entirely jealous you get to live out there!!!

hawaiianbasshed
09-08-2010, 02:36 AM
there are tracks on all of the islands here :)

but it depends on what kind of track you want to use. oahu has the highest maintained tracks or at least much higher than here.

yeah, there are tracks here. not good ones, but there are tracks :D hilo has a decent track. and all the other islands have nice tracks. there used to be a nice mini MX but they stopped for some reason, maybe not enough involvement lately or since the economy went down or something I dunno..

kids go by keiki here so they refer to it as KMX keiki motocross :)
