Who BMX'S?I do!(Im talking like street/park and dj riding not racing)ive recently considered switching to skateboarding though, its alot cheaper!i mean seriously!$600+ for a complete bmx bike and then like $80 for a complete skateboard, seeings how i have to earn and pay for it all,it sems smarter to switch to skating, although skating isnt as challenging as bmx,so idk what im gonna do?any suggestions would be apreciated.and if you do bmx/skate what kinda bike/board do you have?

why would you get a $600 complete? most people getting them don't come near needing the parts that justify the extra cost. You can find some nice bikes on craigslist once in a while for cheap. I saw a Sunday Funday complete on there in my area for $150.

I ride a we the people Arcade that I've slowly been changing parts on by the way.

You're joking right? Skating and Biking both require skill, neither more than the other. I've done both and I prefer biking. S&M FTW!

I used to ride BMX heavy until I got a truck.. lol.

I rode a built up Haro Backtrail X3, primo and odyssey parts.

Thinkin about gettin back into it if I could find another Haro.. I loved that bike, i should have never sold it. Here lately, I havent rode my 400ex at all, and I just feel like I stayed in better shape when I rode BMX.

Plus food for me is cheaper than 113 for the quad..:ermm:

bmx hands down. i honestly spent more money skating then riding bikes. i might go threw tires and grips every 2 months maybe month and a half. this is with riding trails park and street everyday.

(a fellow south jersey bmx was struck by a drunk driver a few years back. bmxers got together raised money for a skatepark (patmos skatepark) here is a picture of the expert class warming up for best trick. im in the tan helmet black shirt.)

But you arent me.

I rode a haro because one, the frame was free.. and two, I was most comfortable on it. People dont ride a certain brand of quad just because they like that brand.. they ride it because it fits them well.

When I do sell my 440, it wont be to buy a BMX bike (solely), it'll be because we have nowhere to ride, and i dont have the time to load up and drive 3 hours to ride and not get chased by the cops.. nor can I afford the gas in my truck to drive that far every weekend.

I can ride a bmx bike anywhere I want, and we have plenty of places for the kind of riding I liked to do. Nothing but national forest around me.. prime trail material.

Ive rode a bunch of different bikes. S&M, Fit, WTP, Sunday, DK.. pretty much whatever my friends had at the time. We switched bikes to try out new frames, or bars to see how they felt. I liked a longer frame with tall bars.. just fit me well.

First of all if you think bmx is particularly harder than skating, your definitely wrong. Both have there difficulties and I would know because I have done both for years, but have skated for twice as long. As far as bikes, I always rode GT or haro, keep in mind these were the best bikes around 8 years ago, its been so long since I even rode a bike that I couldnt even begin to tell you what I had on mine, but I know the GT was solid. For skateboarding, my favorite decks were zero or black label hands down. I always used independent or tensor trucks as well with spitfire wheels. Bearings, grip tape, and riser brands all pretty much seem to be the same but out of all the bearings I liked swiss the best. I still get the itch to go skating but dont think that my ankles would hold up well anymore.
