alright so i was riding my bike around my property and started excellerating i was in 3rd so it didnt just go right when i hit the gas so I pulled the clutch a little to get a little clutch slip action so it would rev up and when it all of a sudden went into what i thought was neutral and my gear box started clicking. i shifted into 4th and kept going for about 5 feet until i noticed the sound i stoped and pushed it back to my shop. does this sound like I lost a gear? my bike isnt even that powerful its maybe 40-45 hp on a very good day.

i experienced this once many a moon ago with my engine shortly after a complete fresh build and it turned to be the bolts that hold the retainers for the shift drum bearinging (forgot to loctite em). may not be the case here but worth looking into.

When third went out on my R, it did the same thing. No way to know until you pull it apart.

I had no noticeable shavings in my oil, just one large piece of gear broke away.
