welcome to the 450r...you will be more then happy with it.

Dont mind the jack asses that cant even put a sentence in an intelligent order....there are several on every board.

heres everything you need to know: There is no best oil, just personal preference

all the oil threads (http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=436274&highlight=honda+oils)

if you run rotella you can buy it in 5 gallon jugs at almost anywherel like walmart or if you look around you can buy it in a 55 gal barrel, also you can buy the honda oil like this also if you talk to the right dealer

I responded in the other thread, but I thought I would add to it. Rotella has proved amazing to me. The bottom end was way cleaner than when I used to run different types of oils in other bikes.

it is a little pricey but i have never had any problems with amsoil 10w-40 syn. works great in both engine and clutch side.

^^ Agreed ^^
Run the Rotella on the engine side. It's good stuff, and as often as you should change the engine oil, you're pissing your money away using anything else. Run the Honda HP tranny oil (Red Bottle) for the clutch.

I have been using BelRay Thumper Semi Syn. 10w.40 and The HP trans. 80w. In the tranny side. Have ran the same combo on my old 05 and now my 08 450r both have never given me any reason to switch. You just have to keep it clean.
