Yeah, guy named Danny crosses the larger portion of the water there on his Raptor 700, approx 400ft or so and it's much deeper, I've heard 40ft or better.

If you watch at this very first of this vid, Todd is kicking down some of the lip at the edge there, then this vid shows him climbing that hill shortly after Danny crossed the water.

Is there a trick to pulling this off? like do you have to use paddle tires or can it be done with knobby tires

Paddles and speed, also enough power to carry it as there is a lot of drag on it on the water. The more power and the more speed the more distance you can cover. Also it sprays a lot of water up so some waterproofing is prudent but I crossed fine without any additional proofing.

Danny's bike is very waterproofed, but I'm not sure what all he has done to it.

Primarily the air intake, snorkels are good, Danny has a rigged up homemade job on his Raptor, I didn't have one but then I'm not running 400ft across either. Electricals would be good to proof with dielectric grease for example, and I'm sure the 4x4 crowd could give you more tips for waterproofing.

I didn't have any on mine and the short gap I shot across it was fine.

can it be done without paddles if im going fast enough like say the top of 5th

maybe a few feet, but I wouldn't recommend it. if it's shallow water and just a few feet, enough speed, maybe.
