what gearing should i be running to get more bottom end out of my 89 for tight mx tracks like fair races and such. it has a 265 cool head lrd pipe and so other motor stuff but looking to get some bottom end out of it. random picture from pine like tt national this year

since you didn't say what you already have... go down a tooth in the front or up 3 in the rear

well right now it has big gearing on it 15 37 for the big dirt car tracks i have been runing it on

The fair tracks around me are small and real tight. I gear my quad so I can ride the whole track in the same gear, usually 2nd or 3rd. That way I can clutch it in the tight spots and let her wind out on the more open spots. Usually the tracks are so small and tight that shifting would just waste too much time.

Here's an example. My quad has 14-38 gearing. At one of the tracks, dropping to a 13-38 allowed me to run the whole track in 3rd gear.

with 20 inch tires i like 13/38, with 18's 14/38. good low end and still able to rev out.
