Help with cooling

my 300ex got overheated recently at a race. mud covered up over the fins and it wouldnt start. i need a way to keep it cool. what do you racers use?

I've seen our so covered,you couldn't even see the fins. And he races for 2 hours and we've never overheated. But we do run an oil cooler.

is it a gdh oil cooler? well i think i was running a little lean also. if its gdh oil cooler, could you post pics on where its mounted
