well guys just recently my trusty wiseco crank that you guys warned me about I believe took a crap. I was riding pinned out in 4th or 5th gear and it started running a little funny, so I shut it off and looked everything over, then I started it up and heard something rattling around, shut it back off and just went to turn it over to see if i could hear any thing and it was locked up solid. I'm Assuming the tin broke off the crank and got wedged in there some where. so this thing ran really really well for a long rod 86 motor believe it or not I could really beat stock 450s pretty bad, so my question is do I really want a stroker motor? is it worth the extra money? and what all do I need to do to make it run right? oh and I will Probly go with a hot rods crank if this helps. thanks.

Yeah my Wiseco crank did just what yours sounds like. Yours probably looks something like this.

If you go with a stroker crankshaft, your porting, port timing, head volume and a few other items have to match the extra added stroke, otherwise, don’t run a stroker crankshaft, you would be disappointed in the performance without the total package.

thanks for the info acecarlos my cylinder already has some porting and I love its power as it is so I will Probly stick with longrod.

hey I hear that wiseco does not stand behind these cranks and they ignore calls about them. I would appreciate it if everyone that has pics of a wiseco crank that has done this to post their pics here. or send them to my email hartwill21@gmail.com I don't live far from wiseco so maybe me going down there a couple times with pictures will make them do something about it. thanks guys

That's a good idea, but the best method for change is, not to purchase them. Hit them where it hurts, NO SALE! :tired:

no I definatly don't plan on letting them replace my crank with another wiseco. i will never run another crank of theirs. what do you guys think is causing this? shouldn't the whole thing fly off and not just a piece?

also what is the best replacement crank to go with? can you just take the tins all the way off these and continue using them or is hotrods better or should I go with oem? and if I use oem who make the best connecting rod kit? oh and thanks for all the pics guys I'm sure these will help.

i have a hot rods plus 4. i have not run it before, but the guy who is building his bike with me has ran it before. he had a problem like this before, but the reason was that he was ridding the hell out of it. doing burnout and pinning it always. i have also talked to several other people about running this crank and all have told me to go with HR. there are alot of people going with weisco, but i would and have preferred hotrod for previous builds, and haven't really had a problem with them.
