you wouldnt see much i dont belive all youll see is good clutch life id wait untill you get into the 350/370 range
I'm not sure the CR500 springs are helping. Have you tried a set of OEM Honda clutch springs?

I think a lock up is always a good thing. I had a slipping clutch on a 340 motor. If ya got the funds I would get one. Takes out the guess work of wandering if it is slipping. And as Morse said, you will have good clutch life.

im a fan of direct drive but it is more money i like the cover and seeing your clutches spin make someone will chime in on a sling shot

The direct drive is a good lockout but I don't like the cost of the extended kicker. I like the look of the see through windows. I am a slingshot fan with 3 slingshots, one on each Puma. They will hold up to 100 horsepower and are cost effective. Don't have to modify the stock clutch cover to fit.

I ran a 370 without one, then went to a lockout on the Puma, however, I would recommand everybody run one.

Any machining needs to be done, or is it a direct bolt on? Im may be getting one with my pilot motor.

i belive you have to machine some off of the inner clutch hub

The hub is machined down so there is .750" left. Enough height for 5 friction disk and 4 metal. The rest of the area is taken up by the lockout itself. The pic shows the standard hub next to the machined one

Unless the 370 has major HP which on gas won't be making more than 70 HP in a major high state of tune, you don't need a lock out. ESR has clutch springs that are very stiff and will keep your clutch from slipping. If you need a lockup because you are burning up your clutch all the time then I would get one but I would rather have a little clutch slip then to break transmissions since we can't get gears anymore. I have had every displacement of Pro-x cylinder at one time, 310, 330, 350,370, all on race gas in different states of tune and none of these motors required a lock up. If you motocross race and need to slip the clutch, you won't like a lockup. Unless you have a over ride transmission, it's harder also to power shift through the gears. If your motor is making more than 50 fts of torque, then you can start thinking about it.
