ok so whats the most HP a 250x chassis could handle, im talking with out cracking, Mainly around the pivot point and engine, front end is not a stock set up, its close to a walsh set up just to give you an idea... I've been making alot of stuff for it. I'm trying to make one quad out of some extra stuff i have, I dont want to make it sound jerry rigged cause im not doing that, IMO, I've been taking things and modding them to make them better, I have some pics of my chassis the way it sits on my other computer at my folks place, im on my lab top right now, but what do you think?

I Know power roll does a 350x swap kit, but i'm not really too sold on that idea just yet, I really like the sound of the newer 250f's and i still have good share of yzf400 parts. i think that would be a little much IMO though, it will also be rocking the 250r plastics, and gas tank, 400ex LT a-arms, not sure what brand of shocks, would like to do a CR500 rear end and make the swing arm cause i have alot of the things to make a jig to make a swinger.

I'm not to sure if there is really a limit, i feel it all depends on how you strengthen your frame to handle the extra horsepower. I would look into a extended swing-arm though.

This was several years ago but i know we welded 1/4 washers on the mount for the swing-arm, along with gusseted these mounts. After we did this I never had another problem in this area.

My problems came mostly from the foot-peg area and the front end. But i would say most of the stress i caused came from jumping.

if your looking to get alot of hp out a 250x why dont you just save your money and get a 400ex. they have better frames being round tube opposed to the 250x's square tube, they have more accessories avalible, the are cheap and easy to find, super easy to work on and they are really reliable. the more you do to the motor on a 250x just keep in mind the less reliable its going to be just my .02 worth

I got the chassis for free from friend cause it was really cracked up, the whole front end was junk(shock towers) I cut them off and I re did it with a Adjustable shock tower set up, 400ex a-arms work on the 250x frame.

second if you read my comment, i have many honda parts and im making one quad, mostly 250r stuff. like i've said, It will use the 250r plastics, tank seat, and i would like to re do the rear end to rock a CR500 link and weld my own swinger up,

Im going to school for welding so its not a waste of time IMO, the only thing i would be buying are long shocks and the a-arms.

i was looking at that powroll kit. but almost 700 dollars for a pipe. instructions and motor mounts is way 2 expensive! plus you have to get your own motor which is another 500 plus. i will do that eventually but it will be a ***** to jet when i bore out the 350x

can you weld? all it really is are spacers. do a search on here and you'll find a link with a guy who tells you what has to be done

you dont HAVE to do but you should re do the rear motor mount, some people shave it off the motor form what i understand on the swap. well then you wouldnt need the kit any ways, just make the spacers
