valve spring question

I want to run a stage 3 hotcam in my ex

question is can i use the stock valve springs? i have 2 sets of them and just want to know if anybody has, and what their experience was

should be good to go with stock springs. there are a few guys around here that run the stage 3 and like it, others dont. all depends on how your engine is setup . steve

Can you please explain why he should be good to go with stock springs with an aftermarket cam.

because it is not a hard faced cam nor a real radical cam so stock parts will work fine. no need to do anything with hotcams, they are designed to run the stock equipment. steve

tEXas400, that cam is fine to use stock valve springs and everything else. It isn't high enough lift to need any other parts.

I also have a freshly broken in stage 3 Hotcam with less than 1 hour total time on it that I would like to sell for a modest price. Cam looks immaculate with the black phosphate break in coating just starting to wear off. Let me know if you are interested or want pics.
