just ordered a 300ex rear shock for my Honda 250ex and im also flipping the front rims any tips on the shock swap and the rim flip would be great thanks:)

Read the flipping front rims thred about 4 threds below this one. As far as the shock, did you check the size of the bushings on the 300 shock and the 250 shock to make sure the holes for the bolts are the same size.

from what Ive read the 300 ex bolt is a 12mm and the 250ex bolt is a 10mm so the two mounting bracket holes have to be drilled out.

i got the front rims flipped and put back on the quad. i drilled a new hole on one side and put the valve stem reversed in the original hole. The quad has a noticeably wider stance in the front. i also got a 300ex shock off of eBay for $20 and i am installing it right now.

its a little stiffer when your just riding around but it is much better for jumping.

what about for just cruising around on trails and such.?
did u have to modify the holes.?

it rides good on trails just alittle stiffer than the 250 stock shock. and yes i did have to drill the holes a little bigger to fit the bigger bolts for the shock

in your opinion,is a shee or a 300 shock better.?

do you think a raptor shock would work? its about the same length as the 250 shock im guessing, the raptor shocks fit on the 300s so im assuming they would?

Most people put the shee shock on the 250ex because the stock shock is too stiff. Your saying the 300 is stiffer and you like that?

The shee shock will make it a little lower and softer, which to me is better for landing a jump or handling bumps. And just all around more comfortable to ride.
