I have a stock header and silencer on my 440ex if I take off the baffle will it be a noticeable gain or just extra noise...I would get a nice slip-on but I'm currently out of a job and I'm looking for any performance I can get for little or no money, any ideas or opinions are appreciated

That way you could remove the baffle and still have a spark arrestor. Plus it will sound better than it would if you just removed the baffle.

You could also grind down the welds on the head pipe for added air flow.

you can make the tip with a haxsaw. just pull the stosk tip out and cut the big black thing sticking out the back, i modified a chrome light fixture and it does the same thing. it just gets rid of that annoying farting sound when you let off the gas, and it gives it a more thraoty sound than stock but isnt much louder.
here is with the mod im talking abouthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHlHHj6bVIM
and here is with no baffle at allhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wrj2aFAt5hs
