Alright, Me and my friend are lookin for bikes to mess around on. I have an acre of woods with some decent trails and he has a one acre field next to his house. Neither of us have alot of money right now. So we've been looking at getting 85's.

We dont know if we should get pit bikes and mod them out or just buy an 85 and rip around. im 5'8" and hes 6'. Any input?

Pick up a couple KX100'S,Those things are pretty torquey and fast.Maybe a couple CRF150R's?they might be a little more pricey though

A 110 can be plenty fast enought and parts are cheap. Mine has a TB 165 kit with the race head a clutch up grade and its plenty fast for the woods.

Get a used & stock 85.

Then get a used & stock XR100, then bore the cylinder, get a cam, piston, filter, and exhaust.

Switch up and see if you can beat eachother, good ol' 2 vs 4.

CRF 150 should be good. How fast can you really go on 2 acres?

I have an xr80 with an xr 100 motor as my pitbike. I pretty much decked it out after saying I didn't want to spend any money on it. It's plenty fast with a manual clutch and a LOT of fun. Ill try and post some pictures tomorrow but here are my mods.

BBR frame cradle
BBR fork spring
BBR rear spring
BBR chain guide
BBR HD clutch
TB 132 big bore kit
Hotcam
Lightened flywheel
20mm carb
Pod filter
FMF exhaust

The reason I use the 80 with the xr100 motor is the 80 feels more like a pit bike with the smaller wheels.

i think a 150 is a little to expensive. i havnt seen any for cheap around here. i could get a nice 85 for like $900 or iv been seriously considering slowly modding out a 110 but im not sure if i would be stuck in my yard (im doing this because i have to sell my quad).

i feel like a kx100 is to much for a pitbike. I think im leaning toward a klx110. It seems the cheapest route for the most fun but i still dont know if pitbikes are worth it.

get a pitbike. you wont be happy with an 85 or anything of that sort,

With 2 acres you probably won't get out of third on either and play bikes are only fun when they're not breaking every other ride so definetly buy XR100's or KLX110's. When you start jumping and get serious about small bike racing get an 85 or 100.
