I am trying to figure out if the taper on an apex 90 crank is the same as a DRR 90 (the rotor side). And is the Malossi 44 stroke crank taper the same as either of these?

I have a Stage 6 ignition for the DRR, and the taper on my DRR appears too big to fit the Stage 6 rotor. Think maybe I ended up with the wrong one.... Even with the key out of the crank, there is not enough thread sticking out to start the nut:confused: Thanks

I believe the 90 DRR and Apex both have a large taper 42 crank. I believe the Malossi 44 crank is small taper.

The stage 6 PVL comes with a small taper rotor. You will have to purchase a large taper rotor about $100. Happened to me also.

You are correct, my bad. The ign side was small and variator was large.

As far as our 2010 90, the stage 6 kit came with a rotor that was too small. I guess the Apex 90 has a large taper, but maybe thats why they did not list the DRR as such (not sure what taiwan was doing..):chinese: Anyway, anyone with a new 90 will probably have to buy the rotor. Now we go from $430 to $550... NOT worth it IMO. Total mistake on my part, did not click when it was originally explained to me. (I must be a picture person)!

Instead of worring about it, I will just wait to get the Malossi big bore as I a need a new crank, seals and fresh top end anyway....

DRR OEM standard cranks are small taper on stator side, but their HPC versions (full circle) are large taper on the stator side.
