Rear wheel hub question

I recently purchased a lonestar axle off ebay(used) It said it was for a 400ex, however my wheel hubs will not fit on the splines. Are 450r wheel hubs different splines than the 400ex splines? Possibly I was sold an axle for a 450r?

400ex and 450r hubs are the same. Possibly a 300ex axle?

I dont even think thats a honda axle at all. Im pretty sure the 300ex and the 400ex rear hubs are the same. Its the fronts that are different. I may be wrong tho.

any idea of how i can find out what it is for? the sprocket hub fit on like a glove

I thought about a 250r axle, but you said the 400ex sprocket hub pressed on fine? The 250r sprocket hub is 25 splines, the 400ex sprocket hub is 24 splines. The splines for the wheel hubs are also different.

If the axle you received already had the sprocket hub installed, the axle will work with the 400ex bearing carrier.

interesting. thanks for the info. maybe the hubs weren't 400ex, i got this quad as a basket case and have slowly been rebuilding it from the frame up. thanks for the input though!
