OK after two unsuccseful repairs its time to get real. I tore my quad down last night. The head is off to get all new studs and decked, while it's there it's getting bored from 416 to 426. The way I see it if its going to be a pain it,s going to be faster. Besides that I hate to get towed back from the dunes with a Z.
Next trip I'm going to ride thier arses off. Ha Ha. I really wanted Elka's but I can't help myself, I get inside the motor and I have to upgrade. Wish me luck:devil

Call TC Racing and get his larger studs. That seems to me like that could be the cause. They are bigger then the stockers, so they will hold MUCH better!

What kind of head gasket are you using? I got a stainless steel head gasket and have had no problems. Mike @ FDO told me that the stock gasket will not hold high compression.

The TC studs definitely help. You just have to drill and tap out each hole.I have them with a Cometic head gasket.

The TC head studs are nice! I believe they go for about $80..
