This is just a quiz for you older guys. Have you ever head of a 1979 Chevrolet Monza Spyder?

Yes but if I remember correctly it was just a decal package or something. I don't think you got any real drivetrain or interior upgrades.

I love Manza's:p

I'm only 16 but I still know of them.

Pretty neat looking little cars, in my opinion. Great for V8 swaps.

my mom used to have one a long time ago, it wasn't a spyder, it was just a coupe. But it had the 4.3L V-8. Dad ended up trading it for a Cj-5 Tuxedo park edition.

I remember them well. That was back when every town, no matter how small seemed to have a dealer in it.

Regardless of how loooooong it has been since i have seen one. I have been restoring one in my shop for the past year now. And i am 5 weeks from the big unvail!!! It is equipped with a 5.7l Vortec V8 backed with a 5 manual tranny and posi-lock rear end. It has custom built headers and a 3" exhaust which leads to a walker glass pack. It has an Edelbrock intake and a spreadbore carb, which is fed by a custom cold air intake. The car is the reddest red you have ever seen and black accents. I can and will post pictures when the car is finished!!! If you guys have any questions or anything, just post up!!

Cool. A friend of mine has a tubbed Monza with a 450hp 283 and a 4-speed. No cage in the car and when he used to run it at an unsanctioned 1/8th mile track the body would flex terribly. After a handful of runs the right front fender seam would be non-existant and the paint was chipped off the fender and passenger doors from rubbing. The driver front fender seam had about tripled in the gap size. Take the thing home and let it sit until next weekend and it would settle out and the gaps would get back to normal.
