Not sure about the weight, I just pulled the wheels of my LTZ 400 and installed them on my 07 250ex. the wheels and tires did give it a wider stance and looked a whole lot better than the balloon stock tires on the 250's. It rode fine, I'll snap a pic when I unload the trailer to clean up the atv's.

suzuki, honda, kawi wheels are same pattern and look, good chance they are all made by same wheel company

both 250ex and ltz250 will handle better if you replace the balloon tires with the flatter style like the 400/450's
adding some width will do wonders for the "tippy" corners

axle+a-arms are the right but expen$ive way to do it

you can get by with rear spacers and flipping front rims if its not going to be rode agressive or launched hard off jumps

there is NO noticable difference....................
(I think they might be identical)

here is one of my daughters on her ltz250,with stock suzuki rims on front and my 450r rims and tires on back (they are lower profile and give it more low end power, my wife is on the red 250ex which has stock honda rims

doesnt the zuki have a bigger diamond(were the hub is visible)..?

the honda rims have a slightly rounded clover and the suzuki rims are slightly more pointed

im not 100% sure all years are the same though, the ltz250 is an 04, the 250ex is an 05, and the 450r rims (on rear of zuki) are 06

if you put suzuki rims on your 250ex I dont think anyone would be able to tell

the 250ex comes with "balloon" tires (the tread is in a large arch from side to side)
if you use tires like the 400ex/450r which have a flatter profile and shorter side walls it will improve the cornering stability....

also

the 250ex is a shaft drive so its not easy to change gearing
(with chain drive you just change sprockets)
but putting shorter flatter profile tires its like dropping the gear ratio, giving it more low end power for wheelies or hill climbs

it will however drop the top speed down slightly

you can do the oposite if you just like high speed, by putting taller tires on (but you will lose low end power)

if you use a lighter wheel like the douglas blue lables you also reduce the weight the motor has to spin and put more power to the ground (if you hit big jumps or ride in roots or rocky areas the blue lables will bend easy)

they do look nice with new chrome rims...
i ride mostly like in rocky areas(Little rocks like in trails) and sometimes their is mud,but nothing like rock climing and stuff.
What tires are best for this type of riding or is it cheaper to just buy 400,450r tires instead?
and which would i go for that are low profile, but doesn't change much on the top end speed.?

check tire reviews, for rough trails you may want a heavier play tire that will resist punctures/cuts

for my personal opinion, I like the stock ohtsu tires that come on the 400ex

good all around radial and its pretty light weight

check out rockymountainatv
click on the tires and read the specs. and reviews

just have to find one that fits what you want to do
at a price your comfortable with

I wouldnt go shorter than a 20" tire or your going to lose all your ground clearance and be stuck in the mud and ruts
