Thinking about trading, couple ?s

A guy wants to trade me an 08 450mxr, but the top end needs to be rebuilt (vavles and cam screws, or so he says) would it be worth trading my 88 250r for it? My 250r needs a little work too. What do you guys think?

top end rebuild cost arond $300 too $600 depends on parts if new head is neeed add $500

Thanks. Still debating doing the trade. He said the dealership said that it needs new vavles and cam screws. Anything else I should look for?

i would trade in a heart beat. Your getting twice the machine for yours. Plus its 20 years newer... that would be a no brainer in my book.

You also really gotta look at if the quad your getting is 20 years newer and 2x the machine and yours needs some work also then why does he want your 250r so bad. Just my 2 cents

I actually traded my 86 250r for this quad tonite, definately going to be a project, but it should be worth it, havent actually looked at the motor yet, i'll start tearin into her as soon as i get some extra time, besides the motor, everything else is in excellent shape, little wear on the decals (dude said he bought it as a dealer demo), couple small cracks in the plastic, brand new hmf slip on, brand new front and rear bumpers, little nervous about whats inside the motor, hopin it didnt bend a rod, or get into the cylinder, will put a new piston in it regardless, just hopin i dont need any machine work
