well my buddy was hard up for cash to put down on a new drz400

He had a 03 crf450 and dealer said they would give him 1300 for it

Long story short he txted me and i bought a 2003 crf450r for 1300$$ came with newer tire and 2 sets of valve shims
He took it to the shop not to long ago and had them put all new wheel bearings and a new oil filter some other things

It doesnt run to bad just needs a little tlc because the bottom of the kicker broke so i pop started it to ride it around today

mour meter says 57.1 hours it had 55 when i got it so ive put 2.1 hours on it so far with no problems

Well what do you guys think, was it worth it and what should i do with it
Should i flip it and sell it for more or keep it and ride it ior mayb even trade for a 450 quad

Looks good! Personally if I didn't have a quad already I would trade it. But if you do its a nice toy to mess around on.

450 quads are worth quite a bit more than 450 bikes. Doubt you will find an even trade.

It is a nice bike... but the early CRF450's were notorious for having valve problems. Keep it well maintained and you shouldn't have any issues though.

ok thanks for the info ever since i bought it i heard a tap or rattle when i would really get into it or let off
Well today i noticed the the right side of the front skid plate was loose, tightened it u[p and havent herd it since

I really RODE it today i mean put it through what i put all my other bikes through to see if it could handel what im gona throw at it and everything seems fine

And let me tell u, i absolutely love it for being a mostly stock 450 let me tell u it rips

I mean im sure the new 2009 or 2010s are just ridiculous but i dont have the money to go drop 6-7 Gs on a bike or a quad

The only thing i need is a new tire which i have just need to put on because when i really get on it quick and not easy into the throttle it just spins and slides

But i can go 5th gear and just get into the throttle some and she picks the front end up like it nothing

I really think im gona keep this bike and ride it, i ordered a new kicker today because the one for it was broke and i adjusted the chain, gona change oil tomorrow wash her up polish the frame and some other things then ill post some new pics to show u how it looks all and all im in it for 1400$$ now becasue of the kicker
