Gear shifter loose

My banshee switches gears fine but the lever is loose. You can grab it and pull up and feel were it up shifts and push down to feel it down shift the space between that is loose and a big gap. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?? :ermm:

Nevermind its been 10 years since I owned a banshee, compaired to my raptor or 450 it seems loose.

grind down the shift star or buy a modded one it will take out half the slop . buy a clutch tool and a right side gasket of make one.
