I have to change the exhaust for my 450R but I'm not sure of which one is best to replace it with. I've been told that Lexx and HMF Competition are really good. What would you guys recomend.

Thanks..

Baldwin makes a good 450r exhaust as well.

I currently Have motorworks SR4 full system, it added more power than my old Yoshy pipe. Consider the Lexx Exhaust for the price, I hear good stuff about them for the price. and they have 4 interchangable tips. Lexx Exhaust (http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&webTypeId=57&navTitle=Exhaust&webCatId=18&keyword=LEXX&prodFamilyId=19536)

Call Toby at Moto-xperts. His new exhaust is pretty much the best around and he can show you the dyno #'s to prove that. Even when compared with the other "best" exhaust systems that will be mentioned on here.

Thanks everyone for your advise. One of the reasons why I metioned the Lexx was because is pretty economic, but I also want to have good performance so I'd like to start with something good

I've always had real good luck with HMF. I have heard good things about Toby's new exhaust too.

First off... no pipe is getting you over 5 horsepower when properly tuned. The majority of the big name pipes are giving a 3.5-5 hp gain.

For the 450r i would in with a Curtis Spark or Rossier maybe even a Dasa.
I currently have a new Silver/Black HMF and would trade it in a heart beat for a Sparks or Rossier!

Doesn't sound like much ... BUT I'd say that an exhaust offering roughly a 15% increase in power is pretty good.

:ermm: How do you do your math? 15% increase from a pipe?
That would be the only exhaust sold. At any price! :macho

Do you need a map? What's the average horsepower on a stock 450? Now, the previous comment stated that pipes offer 3.5-5hp increase.

Let's just say a stock 450 has ~32hp
And we'll say we've got the best pipe that supposedly offers a 5hp gain

Here's that amazing math:

5÷32=0.15625

15.625%

Now, I didn't say whether or not a pipe is offering that kind of increase. I was simply analyzing the comment of "3.5-5hp gain".

I am going to get a new exhaust this winter and im leaning toward Dasa, Baldwin, or MXP, if any body has any dyno f those with a stock engine post them up please

There is no such thing as "the best pipe" The best pipe for me may not be what you like in a pipe.

Pipes are a way to fine tune your engines power in a way that works best for you, your engines mods, and your style of riding.

I see people everyday riding with the most expensive and loud pipes and none of them even have the skill to ride past the stock pipes potential.

I didn't read anything in your post about your engine mods, type of riding, or what type of power you are looking for so I'm not even gonna guess what pipe you should get.

Don't rely solely on dyno numbers. While dyno's are a good reference tool I have yet to see a dyne win a race in the dirt

some people are touchy on this site...i didn't say i was gonna get the pipe with the best dyno, i was gonna look at that and then talk to a guy that has been helpin me out gettin my quad set up and go from there

Easy Hot Rod...

I was not referring to your post. I was making a general statement about exhaust and dyno's.

Talk about being touchy

I just bolted on a full motoworks exhaust yesterday. fits is very good. Very good sound my stock exhaust is louder with the baffle out of it. huge increase on power all the way through. with just a HRC cam and HRC needle 185 main.

My bad! I wasn't using 32hp as my base. I stand corrected. :o

Go to a race and find the fastest guys who get to choose their own pipes- i.e. not running what their sponsor chooses.
