Is there away to keep them tight with out putting tape on the axle? This is for the 2 nuts on the right side of the carrier. Thanks Rodney

ZTR axle nut is the way to go IMO:D Either way, you need to keep an eye on any axle nut combo you choose. Every race we enter, we spend several hours on maintaining this thing... just the way it is:scary:

The original axle nuts were designed to be used as fishing weights. Now the ZTR axle nut does the job but I still give it a tug every now and then.

What I do is tighten both nuts down. After that take two pairs of channel locks and tighten them against each other. I havent had a problem with them yet, although I check them before every ride.

Thanks for the info and I will look into the ZTR nuts. I have found that this little machine like to be worked on. Plus it is my first 2 cycle so I have learned a lot in a short time.

thread lock is the way to go, it is a lot cheaper so you can spend the money on springs & rollers.....lol

had problem last year with stock ones coming loose too, i drilled small hole thru outer nut and axle and put cotter pin in, worked good. i went with a durablue axle this year and hated to drill a hole so i bought the ztr, figured this was the real deal, NOT, it comes loose too!! just add this to your list before each race.
