Is there a cheap varieter setup?

So my question is being, these are scooter trannys... why pay hundreds of dollars for a front setup when you look at these scooter parts sites and you can buy the inner and outer front varieter anywhere between 20 to 80 bucks! Is there any out there that have the same roller ramping and face angles as the high dollar or even stock apex?
