Did anyone have problems getting there hotcam onto the timing chain sprocket? It seems like no matter what I try I cant get it to match the bolt holes with the cam. I know it said in the install sheet that this is the only downfall to not removing the timing chain, but I didnt think it would be this difficult.

well if u can get the sprocket and the hotcam to line up when they are out of the engine then u should be able to get them on with the chain

the only thing i cam think of if that u never removed the tensioner from the back of the cylinder

i'm not understanding what you mean "I know it said in the install sheet that this is the only downfall to not removing the timing chain" you have to make sure you cam gear says "OUT" and also make sure the cam bearing on that same side has the shielded part of the bearing is facing to the outside as well... and the timing chain tensioner isn't fully extended right?

yea but the timing chain tensioner is a spring loaded thing so it will allways push the max it can. so unless u have removed it or have a fancy little toal holding it with no tension then that is the problem

Sorry bad explanation on my part, I dont have the instruction sheet handy so I cant fully explain what I mean, but maybe it is that I have the gear flipped around the other way.

well u know the tensioner is spring loaded

so what have u done to stop it from doing that b/c if u have tension on the chain u will never get it on

oh haha sorry, Im half asleep right now and figured id try to get some opinions on this. I've tried pulling the tensioner back with no luck, but did it half assed. I will just remove it completely the next time I get a chance to finish it.

Yea a flathead screwdriver is exactly what I used, thanks for the help. I will remove it hopefully tomorrow and get it back together. Just curious, why did you ask if I only removed the head cover?

i was trying to know if that was all u did b/c u were haveing trouble telling me wethor u removed the tensioner or not

so if all u did was take the cover off then u most likly left the tesioner on

Ok just wondering. Yeah I didnt know the tensioner had to be removed to make it easier, I just figured backing it off would do the trick. This is my first cam install so Im pretty new to this.

Yes Im aware of all of that and took those steps, I definitely wouldn't of attempted it without the manual. I was just unsure on the tensioner, didn't know it would make it easier to totally remove it.
