Got a 70mod with kx65 motor.was replacing the chain and sprockets which is a drr rear and a 428 chain.Went to the local dealer and got a kx-65 front sprocket but found out it is a 420.So i need a 428 front 12t sprocket to fit a kx65 motor.Where can i get one?I don't have a clue where the one that is on it now came from but it is a 428.thanks

SnyderMotorsports carries 19t slipper sprockets that SLIP when excessive amounts of torque are put on them to protect the transmission. You might be able to put that on there and just change your rear sprocket settings. Give them a call 330-345-5443. Shawn, Steve or Dylan will be able to help you out.

A stock kawi sprocket is made for a 420 but for some reason works with a 428 as well. We have used them for 3 or 4 years now with a 428. The cr85 sprockets won't do that. Only the kx.

the 420 and the 428 both have a pitch of 1/2"
the main diff is that the 428 is a wider chain
420 = 1/2" pitch / 5/16 roller diam / roller width 1/4 / sprocket thickness .227

428 = 1/2" pitch / .335 roller diam / roller width 5/16 / sprocket width .284
