Looking for a flash for my slr. Was looking at either the sb 600 or sb 900. Big diffrenance in price between the 2. 600 is like $220 and the 900 is like $450. What I am looking for is better indoor action shots and just better indoor shot in general. I have a d3000 and a d90 so I would want the flash to work on both camera's which it looks like they both can.
Any suggestions?

Sb900 if you can afford it. It has a lot more power and more features. I own a sb600 it works good indoors but lacks the power I need for outdoors.

B&H didnt have the sb800, so I ordered the 900, what kind of issue's have they been having? All the reviews I read were all positive, not one negative. Just putting it on and not even messing with the setting makes indoor in night pictures much better. Any tips on settings?

No big tips....I shoot mine mainly in manual mode...TTL will work well for you. Most of the pop up on camra flashes work well as they are closer to the axis of the lens, but for more power and range the SB-900 will work fine.

For indoor pictures, such as a house.. Bounce the flash off the ceiling

+1 on the SB800

I have the 800 and the 900, my 800 comes out about 90% of the time.

Had the sb900 for a few months now, no complaints. I have a question though. I was at an NEATV race takin pics and there was a guy there using his flash (not sure which kind) but I saw him using it while taking continuious shots. I tried it on mine and and the flash couldn't recycle fast enough. How did he do it?

Did teh SB-900 come with the 5th battery compartment? It is for faster recycling.

I have battery packs to use but try not to, you can fry a flash in a heartbeat with repeated hard use!

I don't think so. What would it look like? It just came with the rechargable batteries and the charger. So its not worth overusing the flash then? Get the shot right the first time, lol.

Don't know if you have already found this out, but if you use the expensive lithium batteries it will recycle faster with continuous shooting.

I use a Nikon D60 with an SB 600 with both an 18-55 and a 55-200 lens, looking to replace the short lens.

Was using the 100-300mm kit lens but just picked up a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8
