I stand up alot when I'm riding, so it always provides me with alot of support in my lower back. I definitely can tell a difference when I don't wear one.

The help alot on a dirtbike. Cause you use your core muscles alot more to keep you balance.

I use one racing XC to keep my guts from bouncing. Not too tight, just support for my guts and back.

I think its to protect your kidneys in a crash from the bars and stuff. But I used to use it for my lower back pain when riding. I don't think it actually gave my back support as much as it corrected my body position because I stopped wearing it and I have no pains. I gueess after wearing the belt for so long my body just got used to the proper position and it became natural.

If you ride hard “like racing” you would be surprised at how much force your guts are under. You can get a serous injury tearing your insides and it takes a long time to recover from it, most of the time it will require surgery.
I don’t ride without one anymore; they help out a lot, especially for us old geezers.
