id try some heat and going really slow to bend it back. other than that,. if it breaks then you didnt lose anything. I would probably keep an eye on it and let it cool without water so that it doesnt get brittle. steve

I could be wrong,so correct me if i'am.I heard a while back that aluminum is easier to cold bend rather than use heat. Not sure how or if it works but thats what i heard.

when i bought a set of AC nerfs for my 300 last year, i got em off ebay and they were bent too. i actually bent them by hand on the ground.
i guess it just depends on how thick those ones are that u got.

First you can try to it a bit without heat to see if it will go. some aluminum like 5057 is easier to do but something like 6061 doesnt bend real easy. this is probably what that nerf is made of. if you dont get it to go then do the next thing.

I would say that annealing it will be your best bet which would be to heat it up a bit and bend it till it starts to stiffen up again. just dont get it red hot! then heat it up a bit again and do the same. as it cools off a bit, it will get harder to bend again. it shouldnt need too much to get it to bend. then when you are done, heat it up a bit and cool it quicker than air cooling to help to harden it up a bit. this will help to stiffen it up again and make it solid. you probably wont get too many big hits out of it if you have to bend it again though. lol you should be good with that though. steve

It will melt before it gets red hot so if you go that route be very careful.

i work in a shop, i mostly work with aluminum and its best to not heat the object

GOT-R-Done:D put the heel guard in a bench vice used SOME heat from a torch and TOOK OUR TIME. its about perfectly straight to if it wasn't for the slight discoloring of the aluminum but you have to really look to notice. an we just tac welded back back over. tig would of been ideal but hey looks better then before
