My wifes grandmother gave us a bunch of stuff out of her tax office. There was a computer just sitting there and she told me it was messed up but I could have it. It's an IBM thinkcenter 8131-33U. I plugged it in yesterday and it seemed to work OK, but today the green LED on the cd drive flashes a few times and the fan comes on and that's it. Any ideas? Would be great if I could fix it myself. There a local repair shop but I'm not real confident in him. Would it be worth fixing if I cant do it myself or should I just trash it and get a new one?

you can change the order of what starts up in your bios Im not sure about which function key to hit on your start up to get into bios possibly f10 or f12 and then you can change the boot order that might let you start it

I cant get it to go that far. It's like it's losing power somehow.

Try changing the power supply with a known good one.

However I had a similar issue once, the motherboard was shot.
