coming in for a pit stop.......remember those nice douglas .190 rims and new holeshots from the firtst pics....blew both and had to change them out...ran almost 50 of the 80 miles on one flat...all ruined, but i did get 1st!! the course was highly technical-19 miles long 4 laps......80 miles of desert ****!! ...note to self...don't run 10 inch rim in high speed desert race........the cacti aren't friendly either...got one across the neck earlier in the race......

You look pretty wide up front. I am looking at the Houser +2 for MX...That race looks like it would be fun as heck

 What did you do to your rim? That sucker is beat the ****. Desert racing really beats the crap outta your quad.

Great pictures...... Where was this located?

i was originally going to do my first mx race on a quad last weekend....but on the way to the track to practice on saturday, we were reading the desert paper...saw the race was only an hour away and checked it out on pre-run day, and ended up racing it on sunday....hence why i had the 20" holeshots and 10" rims on....bye bye brand new rims and tires!! my buddys' wife's brand new z400 became the donor for wheels and tires at my pitstops.
we loved it and are going to race the rest of the season at these races and also want to check out the Best of the Desert series..although they are a bit pricey on entry fees. i had no idea what to expect....very sore and have holes from a cactus in my neck still!!

that rim and tire got ridden on for about 50 miles flat...i didn't want to stop for a pit after the 3rd lap...2 1/2 laps on a flat did that to a douglas red label...lots of rocks at 40-50 mph take their toll!!

ryan..this race was in lake pleasant, az. right above phoenix.

That my friend is why you buy race wheels or beadlocks.

Sounds like you had a blast. You will get better with time and learn to avoid those rim bending items that run out in front of you, lol. I have run many dez races without beadlocks or anything, but they will help in some cases. The are pricey and I am not sure if they are worth it as I havent used them much to really tell. Get yourself some taller tires and some beefy skids and your set. Great pics and will see ya at BITD.
