I have got a 02 440ex with stage 2 cam edlebrock carb, ported and polished head +1mm valves, biggun rev box. Yosh titanium full exhaust no airbox. I Think this thing is slower than hell. Should this run halfway decent? I got a 08 stock yfz 450 and after riding the 450 and going back to the 440 its like getting on moped. I am thinking about rebuilding it but its not that old of a build.. Any ideas?

for one the carb is a ( pos ) to me and not many use it. the 450r carb is the way to go to me. i dont have the +1 mm valves but im going to get them. and my 440 will eat 450s all day long even 450s piped and jetted.

how long has the motor been done? with out the nos we smoke the 450s. with the nos we smoke 600 and 750 street bikes.

What size Sprockets ???? Tires and wheels ???? Could be a carb issue or maybe even the rev box. Edelbrocks are known POS. You should have no prob keeping up if not spanking that YFZ with your build(I have no prob spankin YFZs with mine). IMO you'd do better with a stock carb and rev box.

Ive heard to many people say the edlebrock was their problem!

But some love it?

Well I run race fuel, it is stock gearing with 18x8's in rear. The edlebrock has a 23e needle in it. There are no jets in the edlebrock. They told me u just change needles. I got me a stock carb with choke removed. What you think I should start out on jetting? Or should I just get me a 450r carb? I almost got the engine out of the quad, will finish today. What piston should I replace it with, I have the 89mm from wiesco. I got gt thunder studs to install and 450 timing chain while its apart. The motor prolly only has like 50 hours on it at the most. I got it from my cuz who had all the work done besides the head ported. He never rode it. I just need to no what piston I should get High compression doesnt bother me. Also on the cam should I be running a stage 3?
