you will always get improvements with torque, acceleration, and power with an exhaust upgrade in my opinion. It just matters how much you are willing to spend. cheaper headers and exhausts make lower gains while more expensive ones usually give more. not sure if its the same amount of gains with 2 strokes as it is with 4 strokes (never owned a 2 stroke myself) but i would assume it is. Getting a Pipe is always the quickest and easiest way to get some instant gratification and noticeable improvement in performance. Just remember to change your jetting and air box as needed to give you new exhaust the air that it will be demanding:) Those 2 stroke experts out there can correct me if I'm wrong but every 4 stroke I ever bolted an after market header and pipe too felt like it was on crack rite away :)

with a 2 stroke the pipe is esential and can make gains or losses in power. the shape and length of the expansion chamber can dictate how much power you have at what rpm range. some pipes are tuned for low to mid range some mid to high and others high. it all has to do with back pressure. watch the gif on the link

blue is air, green is air fule and oil miture, grey is exhaust
