ive never had any trouble with this.. i turned the bike off for 10 minutes in the middle of a ride yesterday and then when trying to start it back, i got nothing.. all the lights still worked fine.. when i push the button i dont get a click or anything..

i put a charger on the battery and it started to click when pushing the button but still wont turn over.. when you pull the charger off it goes back to nothing..

a guy i was riding with says his did the same thing and it ended up being the decompression pin but i can't find a recall on it for the 06

anyone have any idea?

Had the same issue. Ended up being a dead cell in my battery.

i've heard that may be it too. my battery is actually brand new (about a month old) but could that still be the problem?

Yea, it still could. Mine only lasted about 4 months with a few joy rides and one race. You need to have the battery load tested. Just because its has 12.5-13.5 volts doesn't mean its good.;)

And dont buy another maintance free battery, otherwise the same results might happen again. SEALED ACID BATTERY is what you need!

set the decompression mechanism with a compression gauge, set to 60 PSI and you will be good to go.....any more and it is hard on the starter and parts.
