I am interested in getting a timing key for my 400ex.

I would like to know..
Is it worth it?
What are the sacrifices, if any.
+6 or +3, my engine is stock.
Can this damage anything?
Also, someone locally is selling 2 sets of 450r shocks.

"stock shocks from a 2008 trx 450r 2 rides on them 150 for the pair
stock shocks from a 2007 trx 450r 100 bucks for the pair"

This time I would like to know..
Does shock year to bike year matter?
If this seller still has these items, should I get the newer set?
Keys are great, if you have an aftermarket cdi/rev box I wouldnt recommend a key, but the key wont hurt the motor in anyway.

Shocks you might wanna look into kfx 450 shocks or yfz, 450r shocks are great I have some, but after seeing the kfx shocks I wish I had bought those, if I were you and gonna buy from your local guy id get the newer ones.

Should I not get the key then? Because I will not be getting a new rev box.

And what is your reasoning behind the shocks?

If your not getting a rev box, you should get the key. Rev boxes having advanced timing, that along with a key will over advance the timing in some situations.

I dont remember which one it was, yfz or kfx, but they are slightly smaller then ex shocks and 450r shocks, some people say 450r shocks are to stiff and the kfx or yfz's feel alot better.

Theres threads here with both types of shocks ill try to dig it up real quick.

Heres the thread on kfx shocks, ltr shocks work also, do some research, make the right choice, its all about personal preference really.

Ha I read that wrong at first and I haven't looked at your links yet, one minute.

The links were helpful, I may get one of those two but this is a good opportunity for a new set of shocks if the local seller still has them due to the low price.

The key will make a noticable difference. I have no internal mods but I can feel a difference with the key.

I had a problem with the key and a Procom rev box last week. Johndoe knows what he is talking about. He recommended that I put the stock CDI back on, and it solved my problem.

I ran mine with the rev box before. The key is more valuable than a rev box. Save your money... don't get a revbox.
