valve adjustment

i contacted my local shop becuase my valves need adjusted,he said he would do it for$30 and said hes cutting me a deal cuz he knows my dad but i still have to take all the plastic off!should i save my $30 and do it myself?so do you guys think its a good deal?

All ya need is a 10mm wrench, flathead screwdriver, a feeler gauge and a 24mm socket for the valve caps-or you can use a large crescent wrench.
