steves gonna like this :D

once in a while ill get bored, and then my mind will start to work, and then things usually end up getting modified in a some way. last time i got bored and had free time i took a sawzall and cut a door way from my garage into my workshop. it just made sense to have it.

this time i had an extra hour and a bit so i was feeling saucy. and i decided to take my spare hid setup and shove it into one of the lights on my atv. sinces it got the dual headlight setup and i only had one hid, one of those pots now holds a 6000 k hid in it :D wired it into the hi beam portion so during lo beam operation its off and the left hand side light is on, and when hi beams come on the hid fires and the left hand side light goes to hi beam. waterproofed the wiring with some electrical tape at all the connections and there she is. figure if i ever do a night ride ill know have some solid visibility. tested it in my garage last night, lets put it this way, at night time the lighting on this thing was alright, i went down my road at night once, so when i checked it in the garage and covered up the hid it was like i had turned out the lights completely. id say a good 15 times brighter than the dull yellow light the other side puts out :D

so whats everyone else done out of boredom?

Thanks buddy. I'm good good how's it going on your end? I have hids in everything. Lol. Bike suv and now the 400. The pred is still here. Waiting for a spindle for it and then gotta toss in a battery. I've been busy here so I haven't been around. And now I'm in the process of putting a new projector setup into the bike and I almost pulled this light apart and put the old projector in but thought that may have been over kill. I'll get some pics of it one night lighting up my driveway or a field

it is all good here too. just wrapping things up before school starts again in 3 weeks. then it will be back to the grind. I finally got my sled finished today and my 400 finished today. I did some major stuff to my 800 with new skis, carbides, slides, lexan hood, and such along with doing some more custom clutching to go with the kit that was in it already. I cant wait to ride that for the winter. :D I got my new bearings in my 400 again today and got it back together. I wont be running my spacers anymore since that caused some major wear to the bearings the past few weeks. I thought i had everything done for the summer then had the bearing issue so it was out for a few days from that. lol. I think i am finally done working on stuff for the summer... although, i said that in june after my initial part buying spree for the 800. lol. Next year will hopefully be either another 10:1 416 or a 11:1 426 to see how that runs in the hundy. not sure which yet but for $180 for the piston and gaskets, plus a bore, it will have something to freshen it up again(not that it is needed per say, more wanted). It has quite a few miles on it again in the past 2 yrs. lol. I may stick with another 416 just so i dont have to mess with the jetting stuff again but i will probably get it dynoed again if i do it so that wont be an issue anyway. lol. good to hear you are still kicking. lets see some pics :D steve

I'll get some pics up tonite if I don't forget :-)

Some like some of your tuition went into that sled. Haha. I'm the thinking of going 416 in the 400 aswell over the winter. Motor has never been opened and she's starting to feel a little tired lately. Maybe I'm just used to the bike who knows. Oh speaking of which my buddy let me take his 500 cc 2 stroke dirtbike for a rip. **** me that thing moves. Haha. Oh and I put some maxxis zillas on the 400. Lighter than the old tires and they get me through just about everything including the water I found that submerged my muffler lol.

ok steve, here you go, shots of the 400, the zillas, and the garage along with a couple shots of my bike the way she sits this year. you can see the pred sitting in the back of the garage, i stripped the spindle threads on it while pulling it apart to do the wheel bearings so im trying to source out another one. so for now it just sits there. might sell it, either get a track bike or maybe a 4x4 quad in its place. more than likely a track bike so i dont have to worry about crashing mine :D

im kind of looking forward to the winter so i can go out in the snow with these and see how they do. oh and theyre fantastic in deep mud, i had the thing buried in water that covered the exhaust, with a soft bottom and she got through no issues. i can idle through most mud holes with these and have only gotten stuck a few times. once being the other day when i got into some thick clay and they filled up and just wouldnt bite into the slippery mess. but they work great :D also theyre 2 inches taller than the original tires, only because i wanted to offset the heavy re gear i did, it was too much, fun but too much so with these and the re gear it feels jsut about perfect.

2 more shots i just took. the fence from where i am is about 20 feet away. i have the lights aimed all the way down. first shot is low beam no hid, second shot is high beam and hid. next time i have a few minutes ill adjust the light a quarter inch on the adjusters and it should light up things pretty well.
