good deal? 03 f150

A guy on the same rig as me mentioned he was thinking of selling his truck. It's a 03 ford f.150 crew cab, black, triton v8, fx4. he said its a real nice truck, i forgot how many miles he said, but I know it wasnt over 110k. He said he would let it go for $5k. Does this sound about right? I dont know too much about it as I haven't seen it yet. thanks, neil

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me, most crew cabs I see sell for $8000-10000

Very good deal, I would have a mechanic check it out cause its almost too good to be true. They can easily sell for 10k in good shape with 100k on them.

I bought the (almost) same exact truck in October of 07. '03 F-150 grey, crew crab, lariat, and V8. I got mine with 47k miles on it. I think we paid around 13k for it. But mine was 2WD.

I think thats a steal. But I would get it checked out.

yeh it does sound too good to be true, we were both just looking at f250s on my laptop and he was saying he is thinking of going get one when he gets back on land, and he kinda mentioned he was thinking of selling his truck, he said he got it from his neighbor for that price. Then he left it at that, then after a few days i asked if he really wanted to sell it he said he didn't know, then i kept asking and he gave me his number to call him when wwe get back

5.4L v8 is worth it, 4.6L is only so so but gets better mpg.

Now if you are trying to buy a 85 rusty beater for $3,000 thats only worth $500 then they could deny you.
