About a week ago i was having a problem with my ltz not working right, and when i took the plug out it was black.. And when i was driving it I had to keep gassing it so it wouldnt quit. Over the past week I changed my axle bearings, and today I wanted to take it out for a drive.. and it wont start . About every 5 seconds of holding the start button in it woud make like a backfiring noise almost sounding like it was about to start.. I know I am getting spark. What is wrong? Valves? Rings?

Ive had just about enough with the BS this bike is giving me.
Thanks.

I just checked compression.. Only 65-70 lbs.. not good. Would that cause it to not even start? I know its supposed to have 140.

please check the valve lash , its very easy to do .
the quad is an 06 ?? its now 2010 , if you have never tuched them in the past then its about time to expect the valves to be tight

The top end was rebuilt in November of 09 by a mechanic, so im guessing the valves were checked then, but ill check them now, im just not sure what to look for.

Check out this white paper. The DRZ is the same motor as the LTZ
