Checked the apex website and saw that they will come out with a new machine. I know it has been standing on the facts that they would release it. But now it comes as it looks.

New liquid cooled AMA legal 250f.

They produce the framework. It is designed by LSR.

My hopes are that the Japanese are beginning to produce 250 water cooled quads. Or maybe ktm.

No of course not brand new. But rebuilding tons of stuff and finding the parts and stuff you can do it.

It is just a hybrid that they are selling so it counts for production... that's stupid. So if you built it yourself would you be able to race it? I think they should just drop the production rule or something.

the point is why can't LSR start selling quads with their frame and a-arms and their buying a motor to put it (this wouldn't be the first time one manufacturer bought a motor from another and called it production.

who can really afford these things? it is a cool idea but if the manufacturers would just start building a production based 250f then people could actually afford this sport. You can pick up a 250f mx bike for 5 or 6 grand ready to race.

They should make one of these as a 450. That lonestar frame is stronger, lighter and better designed than all the current 450s. Dirtbike engines put out more power than our engines too. So if they have a 450 version and it passes as production all the racers will want one. I wish they would have used s&m instead of dk lol.
As far as this quad in the youth class, there is no competition. The aircooled, no link, hunkabunkas they have today is nothing compared to this. Like I said it is a hybrid, and hybrids at my local track kill actual production quads and can even keep up with the 450s. Idk I dont think its fair to have this because you will have to be a pro in order to beat a kid using this with your 300ex.
Hopefully this pushes the japanese to get to work cuz I would hate to start seeing everyone riding apexs.

These have been around for years, with different motors and frame styles, we built our 1st one in 2005. I agree that they should make a 250f mod class, this type of quad is lighter and faster, then any of the oem's. The price of 11,000.00 is a pretty good price, we have made a number of these with suzuki, and kawasaki motors in them. and that is about what it costs to build them.
Tom @ kids on quads

Am I wrong if I say that 250 and 450 engine looks exactly the same? And it may be possible to put a 450 engine in a chassis like that?
